Frequently Asked Questions
How long and how often do you meet?
IOP meets 3x a week for about 9 hours of therapy each week and the program is 8 weeks long or 24 sessions total
Can I still see my regular therapist/prescriber?
Yes. You will continue to meet with your therapist for regular sessions and your doctor. This is a short-term program. We can help you find one if you don’t have one.
Where does the program meet?
Our sessions take place either virtually or at our in-person location 110 Traders Cross in Bluffton, SC. Location depends on the program. It is an outpatient program so you live at home during the program.
What does IOP focus on?
IOP is evidence-based, with measurable & defined milestones to demonstrate success. Topics include mindfulness, coping skills, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, self-esteem and more.
Which Program is Appropriate for Me?
An IOP is often recommended for individuals who do not require medical supervision and can live at home. This type of program is designed to accommodate work/family schedules and begin a long-term recovery. The Behavioral Wellness Group currently offers 2 different IOPs.
